About Me
As an African-Canadian who immigrated to Canada, Hany experienced struggles with identity, immigration, discrimination and oppression, which influenced and defined her career path. Her experience towards creating positive change in her community led to her serving as the poster child in the 2005 United Way Campaign in Kitchener-Waterloo.

Hany has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Peace and Conflict Studies with a minor in International studies. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Community Psychology. Hany’s Master’s Thesis explored the integration challenges faced by refugee students in the Region of Waterloo, and was published in the Journal of Multiculturalism in Education (2012). In 2014, she co-authored a chapter for a Career Development textbook for university career practitioner students of the challenges associated with seeking and maintaining employment among the immigrant population. These contributions to academia demonstrate her commitment to knowledge dissemination, advocacy and respectful sharing of learning and ideas.
Hany has both an insider and outsider perspective and understanding of the issues affecting immigrants and aspires to continue working in this area to better the transition for newcomers and equip organizations and agencies working with them with the necessary tools to be able to provide inclusive programs and services. As a consultant, the interests of her clients are always her first priority, and she goes above and beyond to make sure they get the results they need.
